Project Description:
A buddy of mine who was a bartender came up with a drink to cure hangovers. It was basically a fancy gatorade.
He wanted to put it in a vintage bottle with a unique label & market it to his customers.
He had some ideas & asked me if I could help & this is what I came up with.
Tools Used:
First, I created the background in Photoshop.
I used a stock photo of these barrels for some depth & to add some historical subject matter.
Then I set up a grid system for my layout using the Fibonacci spiral.
With my background in place, I started laying out my hand drawn elements of the design.
I wanted the Professor to be the main subject of the layout so I placed him in the eye of the spiral.
After that I made a border for the proffesor & added more elements along the guide.
I blended & masked the elements while trying to leave room for my text.
My teacher in college told me to never use more than a couple of fonts for one layout & never stretch or distort a font.
I thought that this would be a perfect time to break all those rules & be completely free in the design of this layout.
It took a little bit of time to manipulate the text to fit & work with the scope of the layout but I think it was worth it.
